Personality:

❝Smile, Allison. Someone could be falling in love with you.❞

When we first meet Allison Argent, she's a regular seventeen year old girl who's trying to adjust to a new life at Beacon Hills. She presents herself as generally a caring person, nice - without harboring the same the acerbic sweetness as Lydia Martin does. She's easy to get along with and generally has a rather warm temperament when it comes to dealing with other people. The first few moments of how she carries herself paint the idyllic picture of girl next door who's just trying to adjust to a new life.

Allison is also more often than not - one of the more optimistic ones of the Beacon Hills bunch. She likes thinking the best of people until she's disproved, often sort of looking over their flaws in favor of doing the right thing at the end of the day. We see earlier examples of this when she befriends Jackson, who treats the "school's jerk" 's shift in demeanor as something more of a pleasant surprise rather than something with a hidden agenda. She can be forgiving if the situation arises. She's quick to laugh and when she thinks about situations, it's rare that her mind goes straight to the worst outcome. This makes her come off as focused and really level headed.

Allison also may take a lot of things in stride, however given the circumstances - she isn't afraid to speak up if she has to.

She's a typical teenager who's main focuses in life seem to be: her family, her boyfriend and school. However, this is of course - Allison on the surface.

Delving deeper, the central theme of Allison's character seems to be conflict.

She takes a page from Shakespeare in her situation of being the girl who comes from a family of werewolf hunters and happens to fall in love with a werewolf. Allison and Scott harbor the same mutual fierceness in their love for each other. Their feelings don't dampen even after the reveal of both Allison's destiny and the fact that Scott is a werewolf. They both run lengths to make sure they stay together. Allison tries to push her boundaries with her family when it comes to her relationship with Scott. This includes: going as far as stealing condoms from her Aunt Kate's drawer, seeing Scott even after her dad's threatened Scott at gun point and sneaking out of the house with every opportunity.

Scott brings out a lot of the positive traits in Allison. Her fierceness, her passion towards what has to be done and a level of stubbornness to persevere. Scott is her break from whatever path her family has set up for her and because of that Scott becomes a central part of Allison's life she can't give up without a fight. Because of Scott, her view of the world is romanticized and while Scott makes her feel elated - her relationship with Scott let's her be what she doesn't ever want to be.

❝I want to not be scared. That night in the school, I felt utterly weak. Like I needed someone to come in and rescue me. I hate that feeling. I want to feel stronger than that. I want to feel powerful.❞

While he calms her down, Scott introduces the concept of weaknesses into their dynamic and that starts becoming Allison's personal struggle. Allison's biggest strength and weakness is her normalcy. She isn't anything supernatural, and her family works on a code that is based off a personal responsibility to fight off what is stronger than they are. She constantly harbors the feelings of needing to do and be more than what is expected of her. She wants to step outside of the role that is constantly given to her as 'Damsel of Distress'. Allison however has never really been able to explore this. She constantly has fail-safes - if it's not Scott protecting her, it's her family and that fact gets to her. It gives her the reflexive reaction of being defensive, like she has to constantly prove she's up to par and she doesn't need anyone elses' help.

This reflects itself in how she handles situations where she is at a loss. Allison has moments where in she is less than put together. She cries in frustration, panics and breaks in the pressure she creates for herself. Allison is young and malleable, sometimes that outweighs what she tries to be. During the latter half of the second season, after Derek gives her mom the bite -- we see the extent of just how moldable Allison is. She shifts from being someone who's generally pleasant to someone out for blood. She runs purely on emotion, defaulting to what her family wants her to be: a cold blooded hunter. She hurts Erica, Boyd and Isaac despite their friendship towards each other just because they're part of Derek's pack. She may have killed them too if her dad didn't stop her. She develops the Argent's paranoia and doesn't see that as a problem until Gerard does the big reveal that he's been pulling the strings all along.

Allison thinks using emotions. So, what stops her from being the cold menace Kate was? To cut it short: love. It pulls her back and grounds her.

Skills and Abilities:
( + ) G Y M N A S T I C S

At a young age Allison took gymnastics. She's flexible. We see her do all sorts of tricks during the series. While we can sort of second guess this was part of training to lead the hunter life, she seems to really enjoy it. She willingly shows off her backflipping skills to Lydia.

( + ) T O X O P H I L I T E

Allison's first love is Archery. She's like a mini-Legolas. She's agile and battle ready. Allison is a champion archer, something apparently the family considering the Argent's love for guns. Allison has excellent aim.

( + ) T R A I N E D

Moving forward in the series, we see the Argent's start playing a more active hand in Allison's training. It's a safe presumption that because of that plus Werewolf boyfriend - she knows how to do well against the supernatural. We see this when she takes a tape recording of a wolves' cry to try to lure Derek's pack out of hiding.

( - ) H U M A N

For the most part, however. Allison is human. She can be killed and hurt. Her gifts aren't the best thing in the world and she has a lot of space to learn.

[ you can do this allison, it's all going to be fine. she tells herself. repeating those words like they're a mantra. okay, so technically she's somewhere that isn't beacon hills, short after being abducted by a dragon. she is freaked out, but she's not going to let it show ( and maybe it does - in the uneasiness of her voice and the uncertainty of her expression ). instead she's going to put her best foot forward and try not to react like one of other girls would in a situation like this. ]

[ keep calm, don't ask for help. you can figure this all out. ]

Hi. I'm Allison. I'm new.

[ this is just like moving to a new place. how many times have you done this introduction? ]

The moogles gave me the - gist of things and I'm here to help anyway I can. So if anyone needs a hand, the Dragon's were nice enough to drop me off in this place called - Moonflow.

Third Person Sample:

allison's life is a continuous uphill battle between who she is and who she's meant to be. she's all about small rebellions, small actions that tell her - this is your life allison, and you're the one setting it back on track. never things that could actually hurt anyone. just little things.

so it starts with her sneaking back from a midnight rendezvous with scott. not anything incriminating, just - major cuddle time in the woods. she's definitely not expecting someone else to be in the room when she gets there. and at the first sign of someone elses' entry she's worried that it might be her dad who's just figured everything out or - gerard, god forbid. or scott who's keen on doing something stupid.

when she flicks on the lights, carefully - she's surprised to see lydia.

this must be a part of the lydia martin crazy

"lydia?" she says carefully.

"everything okay?" she adds immediately after, like lydia is a time bomb waiting to explode.
